The Coming of the King | Zechariah 9

Zechariah 9. From Zechariah 9 we learn again that God keeps His word. God told Zechariah He would judge Israel’s oppressing neighbors and turn Israel’s eyes “on the Lord.” One hundred fifty years later, Alexander the Great marched through the Middle East. But he spared Jerusalem and treated the Jews with great favor. Israel was so frightened by Alexander’s successes, they looked to God for help. As amazing as that prediction and fulfillment is, verse 9 is even more astounding. Israel’s Messiah would not be a Military-King but meek and lowly and riding on a donkey (instead of a war horse). Israel didn’t believe God that time. Do you? May 9, 2010.
