"Live to please God, and He will breathe on thee His peace. Seek His glory, and He will make thy heart His home. Do His will, and thereby good shall come to thee." —F. B. Meyer

Answers to Prayer

Does God ever surprise you? He prepared a "last minute" special surprise for us Sunday morning as well as the Spanish, and Korean congregations. Bro. Don Kiser, his wife, Edna, and two of their grandchildren, Alana and Jr. will be singing, preaching, and praying in all three services Sunday (tomorrow, today, of March 25th—whenever you read this).

Sonny Covington's cousin, Joe-Wayne, completed his radiation treatments last week. Give praise to the Lord for His provision. Pray for renewed strength.

Barbara Goodhue has returned from the east coast where she visited her sisters! Praise the Lord for safety in travel and a pleasant stay.

Pam Holmberg is thankful to God for His answers to prayer this past week! Tuesday she will have a medical test.

Joyce Holeman was having inner-ear trouble and found help this past week so that she is able to get around safely. Thank the Lord for his goodness!

Loren Fryer began radiation treatments this week, which should be complete by the middle of May. Praise the Lord for His perfect timing!

Requests for Prayer

Marvin Funkhouser is being redeployed to Iraq for 18 months. He is scheduled to leave between April 6 to 10. Continue to pray for Marvin and all of our troops.

A friend, Ryan Bareng, is being inducted into the United States Navy Chaplain Corps Command today (March 25). Soon he will begin Officers Training. According to the news this week, there are many empty chaplaincy positions in our military. Would you add Ryan to your list of those in our military for whom we pray?

  • Marvin Funkhouser—in the Tacoma area
  • Coleen—a friend of Woody and Barbara Blalock
  • Bryan Miller (Cosgroves)
  • Jonathan Kirkwood (Ken and Jean's son)—home (Pendleton) from a tour in Iraq
  • Chris Shelton (Cosgroves)
  • Jeremy Mullens (Cosgroves)
  • Sam Im (Korean congregation)
  • Ryan Davey (Stella Rogers' grandson)
  • Russell Perry (Cosgrove)
  • Steven Henning (Cosgrove)
  • Sara Parmenter—has returned from Iraq
  • Tony Loving
  • James Farmer
  • Kevin Nicholas
  • Jorge Avalos
  • Ryan Bareng

Would you pray for our church, that God will use us for His purpose and glory, especially in living out the Gospel of Jesus Christ to our community; that He will continue to conform us to the image of Christ through His Word; that His holiness will be the hallmark of our lives and His love our identity?

Mike and Berniece Cosgrove's friend, Nate, saw an extreme increase in pain and difficulty breathing last week. He is under hospice care. As you pray for Nate, remember his wife, Johnnie, too. They live in Texas.

The result of Jack Arbuckle's tests verify cancer and surgery will be needed to arrest its growth. Tuesday Jack has a pre-op appointment. Please pray.

Wayne Fritch is improving. Bleeding in his lungs has stopped, he's breathing more on his own, and the oxygen saturation level is good. Because of the heavy doses of medication, Wayne's kidneys and liver are not functioning at full capacity. Dialysis was started to help his kidneys and the chemo drug was stopped to help his liver. Would you pray that these internal organs will continue to improve? Lorraine writes, "We thank God for His kind answers to prayer, and for continued strength as our family faces the days ahead. Thank you all for your love, concern, and prayers!"

The Covington's neighbor, Dick, was diagnosed with lung cancer and an enlarged heart. He has decided against treatment. We have prayed for his wife, Margaret, who is under hospice care. Now, would you also pray for Dick?

Mark Sheets' radiation continues. He has now lost the ability to swallow (which he will have to relearn when treatments are complete).

May we rejoice or pray with you? Others will intercede with you on your behalf before the throne of grace.

Happy Birthday!
