Travels to Texas and Wyoming are now complete. Both trips were refreshing and encouraging. The only casualty was my niece Sarah breaking her arm. The horse she was riding fell. That accident didn’t break Sarah’s will (she got right back on) or her spirit (“this was the best day”). Arguably, today may be “the best day,” because this is Sarah’s 18th birthday.
If there ever was a routine to my life, its resumption is still somewhere to be found and implemented. Scanning slides, opening one plumbing drain and repairing a leak in another, or answering questions about voting procedures don’t qualify as routine but are often necessary.
The following is not original with me and I don’t know who put it together in this form. These are excellent truths for us to remember not only as we come to the end of this (very long) political campaigning season but each and every day as well.
