It is Sunday afternoon. I am almost to Thursday night with my work. I’m sending this on ahead so you will receive it in a timely manner. There are many special prayer requests in the missionary letters that you won’t want to miss. Here are two worth repeating:
- Steve and Eida Irwin’s daughter, Esther, will be returning from the Czech Republic on Tuesday via the same major airline targeted in last week’s failed terrorist attempt. Praise the Lord for His intervention or prevention then. Ask Him for to continue to thwart the plans of the wicked.
- Dale Palmer is not well. I spoke with Dale and Arvalee about a week ago. It was probably my phone call that made him sick. Still, would you pray that God would restore Dale to vibrant health?
My parents returned home safely from Texas, almost a week ago, now. Well, at least they thought it was home. Did you ever watch that house makeover TV program? This was our attempt to copy them, except we forgot to tell our parents (there’s always a glitch).
In two weeks we tore apart—and put most of it back together, too. We schemed. We planned. We worked. Did I mention we worked? It might have been going a bit overboard when we convinced American Airlines to delay their return flight six hours so we could finish, and how we needed that time! But they canceling the entire flight!
The combination of their fatigue (we arrived home at 1:00 AM) and disbelief set in motion about a three second response delay. Can you imagine what it must have felt like walking entirely through a renovated den into a remodeled kitchen before your brain tells you “hey, this isn’t what your house looks like.”
Sure, we’ve got pictures. But if you want to see them, you’ll have to contact me for the link (some of you will be smart enough to do a google search and find them yourself). There’s even a very short video!
I’m hoping this is a better excuse as to why I am (once again) late, instead of my usual bark!
P.S. We didn’t really ask American Airlines for their help, but their action sure played into our hand!
